The Team
Each member of the team has a least 20 years of investment management experience and is either FCSI or MCSI qualified.
Nigel Hall
CHARTERED FCSIMANAGING DIRECTORNigel joined Sheppards and Chase in Jersey in 1980 and James Capel (Channel Islands) in 1985 at which time he became a member of the London Stock Exchange. He has been employed in Stockbroking and Investment Management ever since. He was managing director of Cater Allen Stockbrokers and Cater Allen Investment Management (CI) Limited (became Close International Asset Management in 2001) from 1992 where he was involved with the development and the day to day management of the portfolio, stockbroking and fund management businesses. He has acted as both a director and trustee of various offshore companies and trusts for over thirty five years. He is also a trustee of a large UK registered charity and a Jersey based charity.
Nigel is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Tim Phelan
Chartered MCSIINVESTMENT MANAGERTim joined Bank of Ireland in 1970 has over thirty five years experience in the investment business having worked in the group’s retail, trustee and investment divisions. He was managing director of Bank of Ireland Asset Management (Jersey) Ltd from 1997 to 2004, and a director of Close international Asset Management Ltd from July 2004 to December 2006.
Tim holds the Investment Management Certificate and the Diploma in Investment Advice. He is also a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
Richard Mayo
Chartered MCSI DirectorRichard started his investment career at James Capel (Channel Islands) Stockbrokers in 1986, becoming a Registered Trader and Registered Representative. He has been employed in Stockbroking and Investment Management ever since, focusing mainly on managing discretionary portfolios for both private and institutional clients. He worked at Cater Allen Investment Management (CI) Limited, before moving to Brewin Dolphin Jersey for 19 years. He then joined Odin in 2018.
Richard holds the Certificate in Investment Management and the Diploma in Investment Advice from the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment.
Mark Unwin
Chartered FCSIINVESTMENT MANAGERMark left Nottingham University with an honours degree in Economics, and in 1982 set up a small privately owned bespoke portfolio management company based in Jersey, looking after the funds of individuals and Charitable Trusts, which was the fore-runner of Odin Investment Management Limited. He specialises in the identification of under-valued equities on a worldwide basis, using a selection of investment techniques and analysis which he continually refines.
Mark is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Lucas Foreman
Chartered MCSI DirectorLucas has worked in the financial services industry for over a decade having started with RBC Wealth Management in 2012 before joining UBS in 2017. Lucas quickly progressed at UBS to become a Client Advisor in the Financial Intermediaries team. Within the Client Advisor role he was responsible for managing relationships with External Asset Managers and partnering with them to provide the best solutions for their clients.
Lucas holds the Diploma in Investment Advice and the Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and is also a Chartered Member.
Sharon Cushion
COMPLIANCE OFFICER (MLCO)Sharon is responsible for Odin’s Key Person roles and boasts more than 30 years’ industry experience gained in global bank-owned and privately owned businesses in Jersey and Cayman. She has been focused on Risk and Compliance for the last 20 years and joined Odin in 2022 with a group role. Her approachable nature ensures that her colleagues and our clients speak with her regularly enabling them to benefit from her detailed knowledge. Sharon is a full STEP member, and holds the ICSA Offshore Diploma, CLTI Diploma in Fund Admin (AIF) as well as ICA Diplomas in both Compliance and Anti- Money Laundering.
